In this course, emergency nursing and its scope of practice have been defined. The intent of the
document has been to theorize practice and provide direction to practitioners, educators,
researchers, and administrators, as well as to notify other health professions, legislators, and

the public about the participation in, and contribution to, health care by emergency nursing.

COURSE OUTCOME

At the end of this course, participants will be able to provide the appropriate
emergency care for patients in emergency situations.

[3] List the appropriate emergency drugs
[4] Classify life threatening condition in emergency department
[5] Identify the appropriate action for the emergency situation
[6] Prioritize action an according to the needs of the situation

[8] Perform prompt and effective resuscitation for seriously ill or injured patients
[9] Provide effective emergency care for patients with medical & surgical emergencies
[10] Demonstrate technical skills in managing patients with different types of trauma
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, and other colleagues
[11] Demonstrate decision-making skills in emergency situations
