After going through Airway management course, learners can identify the patients who need continuous ventilation and monitoring. The health care professionals can also know causes of weaning failure and measure to be taken to ensure successful weaning. Weaning is the process of
halting external efforts to survive a life and give patient a chance to manage it’s own living
activities particularly breathing and circulation. Weaning will depict the prognosis and chances

of survival of the patient.

COURSE OUTCOME

At the end of this course, participants will be able to learn the following:
[1] Understand the basics of airway, principles of ventilation and oxygenation.
[2] The learner will be able to demonstrate simple techniques, without use of equipment’s, for
opening a patient’s airway.
[3] The learners will be able to demonstrate the correct technique for inserting an oropharyngeal
and nasopharyngeal airway.

[4] The learners will be able to demonstrate the correct technique for bag-mask ventilation.
