Dr. Neelu Nawani is a Professor and Incharge in the microbial Diversity Centre, Dr. D. Y. Patil BiotechDeactivatedlogy & Bioinformatics Institute, Pune, India. She received her Ph.D. Degree in Microbiology from University of Pune, Pune and earned her postdoctoral experience as Scientist and Research Associate from University of Pune itself. She was awarded the title of “Peace Ambassador to United Kingdom” at the hands of Hon’ble Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam. She has more than 25 years of research and teaching experience in Environmental and Health BiotechDeactivatedlogy. Her Area of Expertise include Environmental, Health and Medical BiotechDeactivatedlogy. She has successfully completed 13 research projects funded by Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, Sweden and DST and DBT, Government of India with project value of nearly 20 crores. To date, she has 102 publications and 252 technical abstracts to her credit, 08 patents (Indian, PCT, US patents), edited 05 journal volumes and 02 books.
